This photo is from one of my first Senior portrait sessions. That was 5 years ago. I just finished photos for this sweet girl again, but this time it was for her wedding.

What A Night!!!!

Have you ever had those days where things go well and the day is pretty uneventful until........! I was having an amazing day. Work went well. I was getting the house to myself to get caught up on some photos, housework, and most importantly, to pack for my anniversary weekend getaway with Mark. Then it happened!!! Again!!! For the 4th time!!!!!!

I opened the door to let our sweet dog, Annie outside. And there eating her food was a dreaded skunk. Right there by the door. I called Annie back into the house but it was too late. I heard the spray! I smelled the smell! I had no choice but to keep my dog, who now smelled like a cross between burnt garlic and burnt popcorn, in my house until the wretched animal left my yard. It seemed like hours!!!!

Finally, it was no where to be found. I forgot to mention I had clothes on my clothesline as well. So, here I am, sneaking out into my yard, like a ninja. I took a few steps and then stopped, looked around and took a few more. When it was apparent it was safe, I got my clothes and went back inside. I let Annie outside and began to try to scrub and air out my house. By now, my eyes and nose were stinging. Sigh!!!!

My sweet man stopped and bought some deskunk shampoo. He is now fighting with poor Annie to give her a much needed bath!!!!!

I sit now, trying to settle myself down. I am considering a glass of wine to help the process along. The good news is, I did get packed and got a little bit of work done on photos. Oh, and my clothes that were on the line smell just fine. I guess that is the silver lining.

White After Labor Day?

I look in my closet to pick something to wear for church and find myself passing by the white clothing for fear that the old adage of "no white after Labor Day" still stands. Well, I decided to do some digging and apparently it is not so true any longer. According to People magazine, the wearing of white before Labor Day may have originated in the 20's. White was worn in the Summer because it was cooler than darker colors. White was then replaced by darker colors after August because the weather began to get cooler.

I love this photo! I say that with a lot of my photos don't I? I love to look back on memories! This one is so sweet of my little girl who is not so little anymore. I will cherish this photo always!

What To Wear.......

I was just at the courthouse taking photos of my daughter and her fiance for their engagement. It was beautiful to see the green grass against the colored leaves on the ground. Fall is definitely here. I thought I would share some tips on what to wear for family photos this time of year. Throwback Thursday!!! 2011

Family means so much to me. Anytime I can freeze a moment in time, I will. This moment was back in 2011. We moved to Arizona in 2008 leaving all our family behind us. This photo shows grandma playing "the marble game" with 3 of her adoring grandchildren when her and grandpa came for Thanksgiving. Grandpa made the game for the kids and it is a hit, especially when playing it with grandma. 💕💕
