Here is a picture of the moon from our backyard. It was so beautiful!!!

Day 10

I took this picture using the preset manual option. For those who don't know what that is, I took a picture of a white piece of paper in the lighting I was taking the photo and it adjust for proper lighting.  Here is a before and after.

Spring/Summer mini portrait session

I am going to have a booth and backdrop set up at the Beef and BBQ Festival at Mortimer Farms (formerly Youngs farm) on May 4 and 5. Business Kickoff

I need help jump starting my business. I work at a school so in 4 short weeks I will be off for 2 months. That means I will have lots of time to do photo sessions. Help me fill up my calendar. I offer full sessions as well as mini sessions. Check out my website for pricing and info on my sessions or to see my work. If you don't need any photos at this time, then  refer me to a friend. For each paid session, you will receive a $20 gift card to a store, movie theater, restaurant....just some examples. I appreciate any help you can send my way. My goal is to be able to quit my job at the school and just do what I love to do second best......take photos. Being a mom is my first best. hehe

This is my 6th day of 365. I caught my 11 year old playing dress up, so I had her pose for me. She loves getting her picture taken.

We went to Sedona and I found this tree with Lilacs on it. We had these everywhere up in ND.

My son asked to plant some flowers. The weather is finally cooperating.

Here is Day 3 of my 365. I love the lighting in this photo. My daughter loves to pose for pictures.

I am not sure why I took this picture. I guess it just struck me somehow. I need to work more on less noise in my photos.

Day 1

As I said before, I am doing a 365 project and here is Day 1! My 11 year old daughter decided to redesign my curtains by tying then in a knot. I think it is kind of neat. 

365 Project

I have decided to start a 365 project. This is where I take a photo everyday for a year to learn more about taking photos and get practice. I will post the photo I have taken each day. 

I have been learning about light in photography. I learn new things about my camera everyday. Here are a few examples of what I have taken. Like one guy I was listening to said "photography is deceptively easy". In other words, people think they can pick up a camera and just take a random photo. And most of the time they can and it turns out great, but to get just the right photo, lighting is vital. 

This is a sweet little Girl Scout that I couldn't pass up on taking a picture of while we were out hiking.

I want to get to know my fans, so I am going to post questions every so often to learn more about you. My first question....would you take advantage of a 15 minute mini session in a park or would you rather have a full session in the place of your choice?

8th grade portraits

This Friday, April 12th, at 1 pm, I will be doing 8th grade graduation portraits at Franklin Phonetic School. Your child does not have to go to Franklin to take part. Each session is 15 minutes long and costs only $25. Call Franklin Phonetic School to set up your appointment today.

Well, I received one more "like". hehe I continue to ask that you all help me get to 100. My goal is to be able to not go back to my job as a lunch lady next year and do my photography full time.
